What are the benefits from using SimTrac? The first and foremost important benefit is, of course, money savings. SimTrac will allow you to either cut in half the resources needed to sustain your current output or double the possible output of your shop using exactly the same resources. Another important advantage is the quality of inspections. SimTrac not only makes it easy for a mechanic to locate any problem, it also encourages him to validate his work. He can verify his job by a simple click so he is more inclined to do it. Its has simple as that! How can SimTrac enhance my output? Simply by optimizing your resources. The same mechanic will, with SimTrac, be able to work at least twice as fast by significantly reducing the need for him to walk around a semi-trailer during maintenance. Also by allowing him to look for a bad connection manually without having to cut the power on the problematic circuit. This without any risks of wires overheat, and therefore, of injuries to your mechanics. What is the pre-programmed electric sequence for? SimTrac has been developed in close collaboration with mechanics, shop foremen and maintenance managers from a selection of transportation companies and trailer manufacturers. Working with them taught us that a circuit can work perfectly on its own, and be totally inactive while activated simultaneously with another. The pre-programmed electric sequence is meant to avoid that kind of problem. Do I need a battery charger? No you don't. SimTrac is already equipped with its own battery charger and battery recognition system witch performs the following functions: keeping your battery at its optimum load, providing extra power when needed and warning the user when the battery voltage is getting dangerous low. Can SimTrac check ABS? Yes. Every ABS system has its own troubleshooting system. Most of them are activated with a simple binary 12 volt code and reports its status the same way. SimTrac is able to provide any common ABS system with its troubleshooting ignition code and is also capable of displaying the systemNBs response. I'm usually servicing my semis outside in a yard. Can I still use SimTrac? Of course! SimTrac is carrying its own battery witch give the user up to 4 hours of autonomy. The battery voltage is constantly checked and an alarm will resound if the SimTrac needs to be recharged. What is the ISO connector for? Talks are currently underway between the multiple transportation legislation organisms of North America. These negotiations have for a goal the harmonization of the electric systems for all of US, Canada and Mexico licensed semi-trailers. It is now pretty certain that these talks will result in the adding of a second 7-way connector witch would allow the independent powering of ABS systems even if a semi is equipped with a lift axle. The 5 remaining wires are kept as backups for any further technologic improvement that would require an independent power source. What is an "Electronic Breaker"? This exclusive feature of the SimTrac works just as a mechanic breaker exception made of the fact that no manual reset is required. Anytime the amperage demand exceeds the maximum sustainable level of your wires, the SimTrac will cut the power off on this particular circuit. It will then cut it once every 10 seconds or so until the problem is solved. |
